Usher Serenades Gabrielle Union at Concert, Jokingly Stops Out of Respect for Dwyane Wade: ‘I Ain’t Crazy’
Usher wants “no smoke” from Dwyane Wade!
The singer who is currently doing a residency in Paris through Oct. 5, performed at La Seine Musicale on Sunday and sang his song “Boyfriend” in front of actress Gabrielle Union.
“Somebody said that your boyfriend’s lookin’ for me,” Usher, 44, sang as the crowd and Union, 50, danced, as seen in a video clip shared on Instagram by both the singer and Wade.
“Well, he should know I’m pretty — OK, let’s stop. Let’s not get carried away. This is Dwyane Wade, I ain’t crazy,” Usher joked as he shook the former NBA player’s hand. “That man will knock my whole head off and then dunk it.”
“What’s up, king?” Usher asked Wade, 41, as the pair laughed and exchanged a hug.
Usher captioned the fun footage, “Look, I don’t want no smoke 😅 👐🏾 Night one in Paris … ”

Usher Reveals ‘Coming Home’ Album Release Date amid Super Bowl Halftime Show News
The music video for “Boyfriend” features Keke Palmer, who went viral after her son’s father Darius Jackson called her out for her outfit choice at Usher’s Las Vegas Residency in July.
Palmer, 30, sported a fitted, black bodysuit under a sheer dress as Usher serenaded her on stage. This led to Jackson tweeting at the time, “It’s the outfit tho … you a mom.”
The pair have since moved on from the issue and even attended Beyoncé’s Renaissance birthday show together at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles earlier this month. The actress and musician also showcased photos of Jackson, as well as their son Leo (born in February), during a sweet slideshow as part of her Big Boss Tour stop at Webster Hall in New York City on Monday.
Asked about the moment, Usher told PEOPLE in August, “Every night I’m thinking about how the world now is going to react to this moment that I’ll have with whoever I’m choosing to sing to.”
“But it was a pop moment, and it was fun to have at least conversation going and we just keep it light,” he added. “I don’t see anything negative happening in Las Vegas.”
