Run Harry, run’: Internet abuzz as expert claims Meghan Markle has agreed to meet only 3 royals if she returns to the UK
LONDON, UK: Speculation has arisen regarding whom Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might meet if they decide to temporarily return to the United Kingdom in light of King Charles’s recent cancer diagnosis.
Royal expert Jennie Bond suggests that there are reportedly “strict rules” in place dictating Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interactions with other members of the royal family.
Meghan Markle would only meet these 3 royals
Bond suggests that if the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es do return to London, they could be limited to meetings with King Charles and perhaps Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.
She indicates that senior royals like Princess Anne may opt to avoid a reunion with Harry and Meghan to demonstrate their loyalty to Prince William and Princess Kate, with whom the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es have been embroiled in a feud for years.
“They could be confined, I think, to meetings with (King) Charles and perhaps (Princesses) Eugenie and Beatrice,” royal expert Jennie Bond told New Magazine, per the Mirror.
“The rest of the family would have to think hard about the implications of meeting Harry and Meghan,” she continued.
Grant Harrold, Charles’s former butler, echoes the possibility of Harry and Meghan’s return, even hinting at a potential permanent relocation. However, Harrold emphasizes the need for Harry to reconcile with William before considering a full-time return to royal duties.
“It’s difficult to say given everything that has gone on and the trust that has been broken down whether they could return as full-time royals, but I’ve always said if Harry did return to the UK, it is possible,” Harrold said.
“He could have a discussion with his brother about resuming his royal duties, but obviously there is so much that has happened over the last couple of years and that needs to be sorted out before the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es made a permanent return,” Harrold explained.
“I don’t think it would be impossible — when I was working for the royal family, I saw how close William and Harry were, I don’t think that’s a relationship that is too far gone to be healed or fixed.”
Despite the challenges posed by past tensions, Harrold remains optimistic about the possibility of healing the rift between the brothers. He recalls witnessing the closeness between William and Harry during his time working for the royal family, suggesting that their relationship isn’t irreparable.
