Cardi B Talks About Pressures Of Fame: ‘I Was Afraid Of Everything’
Cardi B has revealed that she’d been going through a slump recently — one that is now behind her.
During an Instagram Live session on Friday (March 8), the New York City MC opened up about her internal struggles and took the opportunity to thank her supporters for helping her get through the rough patch.
“Thank you for giving me back my confidence because for a long time, I lost it,” she said. “I don’t think a lot of people understand that it’s more than just music. I lost my confidence in, like, myself; not the way I look, but just afraid of things — like I’m afraid to being judged, I’m afraid to being myself, I’m afraid of all the bad comments […] I just feel like I was afraid of everything.
“I’m just starting to feel like I’m not afraid anymore. I’m just not afraid anymore, and I’m going to stop being afraid […] I’m not going to have no breaks, like y’all going to see me almost every single fucking week.”

Earlier this week, the 31-year-old gave her followers another reason to be excited after previewing a fiery new song, “Miami.” Fans have since been speculating that the so-called “Old Cardi” is set to make a return after she shared a minute-long snippet of the unreleased track on TikTok in early March.
She captioned the post, “15. [winking face emoji],” suggesting what many perceived as March 15 release date for the track.
The bass-heavy record finds Cardi continuing the confrontational tone she established on her recently released single “Like What (Freestyle),” the video of which concluded with a teaser of this new song.
“I can survive in the coldest conditions/ Hoes better lower their tone when they spittin’/ Bitches is washed, soap on the dishes/ I apply pressure like boa constrictors,” she raps menacingly.
She then spits on the hook: “I see my opps linkin’ up/ I’m like, ‘What in the fuck?’/ If you scared then just say that, ho/ Enough is enough/ They was just in my DMs/ Ain’t no trustin’ these sluts/ I’m about to call up Diamond/ Bitch, knuck if you buck.”
