Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly discussing a second book with a more “conciliatory” tone, a royal expert claims.
The Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 released his explosive memoir Spare in January last year, and the book went on to become the fastest-selling non-fiction book in British history, shifting more than 400,000 copies in the UK in one day alone. There have been reports Harry could be writing a second book after the multi-million-pound deal he signed with publisher Penguin in 2022 suggested he might be releasing more. He further fuelled rumours of a sequel by claiming he had cut more than 400 pages from the original Spare manuscript, giving royal fans hope that another book would be on the way.
Royal expert and author Tom Quinn believes Harry and wife Meghan Markle have discussed the possibility of a second book, but it wouldn’t include explosive allegations like his first book did, as the couple are reportedly keen to reunite with Harry’s estranged family. “I’m told the couple have discussed Harry writing another book. He can’t write another Spare, but he will be aware that writing a more conciliatory book might even help thaw relations with his brother,” Quinn exclusively tells The Mirror.

“Beyond writing another book, Harry is very unlikely to come up with his own commercial project. You only have to look at him in his various interviews to see that he probably just doesn’t have the drive or the ability – it’s the result of growing up in a world where other people do everything for you,” Tom explained.
After the book was released, critics claimed the memoir missed out on important parts of Harry’s life, such as his decision to step down from the Royal Family with his wife Meghan, as well as their relocation to the US. It was rumoured the 39-year-old had omitted content from his book in order to have material for a sequel, but royal author Ingrid Seward thinks the Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 will leave the memoir writing to his wife.

“I can’t see that Harry’s up for writing another book. I would think the other book, the real corker, would be Meghan. That’s got to be [on its way] because that’s really going to be the only way she’s going to make serious money is [to write it],” she explained, adding that Meghan has bigger projects to focus on after the launch of American Riviera Orchard. However, Ingrid believes Meghan might pen her own memoir and earn “serious money” from it.
