For the first time in league history, all WNBA teams will travel on charter flights for games. WNBA fans got a first look at one of those charter planes on Monday thanks to the Indiana Fever’s Erica Wheeler.
The Fever are heading to Connecticut to face the Sun in their opening regular season game on Tuesday, May 14. This game is already sold out due in part to this game being rookie Caitlin Clark’s first official WNBA game.
In a video posted to Wheeler’s Instagram story, fans got to see just how big and spacious the charter planes are. The video opened with Clark sitting in the front row. The No. 1 pick looked extremely comfortable in her jumpsuit as she laid back with headphones on. It looked like she’s already trying to get into the zone for her WNBA debut.

Many teams previously flew on commercial airlines, running into various problems by doing so, such as some players getting COVID-19. The news of the WNBA bringing in charter flights will likely make a huge difference for the players and their health.
