Amir Khan has revealed he cleared the air with Anthony Joshua after accusing him of sleeping with his wife.

The former two-weight world champion posted a string of tweets last month about the breakdown of his marriage to Faryal Makhdoom.

He claimed she was cheating on him with fellow boxer and current world champion Joshua, who denied having ever met her.

And Khan has now said: “He rang me, he spoke to me. Everything is cool. I said, Look, everything was a misunderstanding and we just put a bag over it.’

“He goes, ‘I wanna be able to come over and shake your hand, champ.’ We want to keep that respect and love.”

Khan has not fought since he was knocked out by Canelo Alvarez last year.

And he added: “There’s always ups and downs in life and it’s how you come through it. This has only given me the chance now to focus more on boxing.

“This is where people are going to start saying, ‘Amir’s going to fail now. We want to see him fail, he’s not going to be the same again with all these distractions.’

“I’m going to have to now prove people wrong by going in there and staying on top. It’s always a tough time.”

Khan could reportedly lose half of his £25million fortune in his divorce.
