Cardi B will be ‘educating’ the masses on Afro-Latina hair
Cardi B has announced she will be releasing a new haircare line this year to ‘educate’ people on Afro-Latina hair.
The WAP rapper sparked a strong reaction after sharing a video of her long and flowing natural hair while posing in just her underwear.
Aside from people admiring her colourful back tattoos, Cardi’s followers clashed with each other arguing whether her hair was able to grow long because of her Latina heritage.
Clearly the rapper saw some of the negative comments as she wrote in an Instagram post on Monday: ‘This year I will be coming out with a hairline that I been working on at home for my hair and my daughters however,I think is time for people to educate themselves on nationality, race and ethnicity.

‘Being Hispanic/Latina don’t make your hair long , don’t make your skin light or don’t make your face features slim specially Latin countries from the Caribbean islands.
‘Dna have something to do with your hair not your nationality but guess what you can always maintain your hair …..and one more things not everyone that speaks Spanish is Mexican 😉.’
Cardi, 28, continued to highlight how people from Latina America are often grouped into one category and explained further on Twitter: ‘I think I’m going to a video of different Hispanic people or Latin people or w.e terms is the correct way to say it now a days cause people be thinking every Hispanic is Mexican or something & must have the same hair texture, color and features.

‘Hair texture def don’t make you a race however I am Afro Latina .Being Afro Latina don’t mean you have to amara la Negra color neither. My grandmother from my mom side is not Latina at all & her father is light a*s f**k so my mommy is light but her sibling are dark.’
She continued: ‘Does that makes my mom less Afro Caribbean then her siblings because she’s the lightest one out of all her siblings ?NO !
‘By the way being Latina /Latino means that you are from Latin America .It don’t mean you are Spanish \Hispanic .Brazilians are also considered Latinos and they speak Portuguese and come in different colors.’
Cardi has been open about her natural hair journey and shared the recipe for her DIY hair mask, which she swears is the secret to maintaining healthy tresses.
