Explosive Reaction: Matty Healy Denounces Taylor Swift Fan’s ‘Narcissist’ Signal Theory!
Matty Healy needs the Swifties to calm down.
The 1975 frontman responded to a social media post criticizing Taylor Swift’s followers for questioning whether he attempted to “signal” his ex with a recent Instagram image.
The conjecture began on Friday, when the 35-year-old “Somebody Else” singer shared Charli XCX’s sad new song “So I” about her late friend Sophia.
Matty Healy reacted to a tweet bashing theories from Taylor Swift fans.
The 1975 frontman kicked off the rumor mill by posting a Charli XCX song.
“So I” is about the singer’s late friend.
With lyrics about “always” having someone on your mind after “push[ing them] away,” one X user tweeted their belief that Healy’s upload was about Swift, whom he briefly dated last year.
“are we reaching to think that this lyrics on HIS story could be a signal to Taylor??” the fan tweeted over the weekend.
Another X user responded, “We need a new psychological term for a contemporary form of narcissism that is somehow not refracted internally onto the self but rather onto the object of a standom.”

In response, another X user slammed Swifties’ “narcissism.”
When a screenshot of the reply was shared via Instagram, Healy “liked” the post.
The social media move comes one week after Us Weekly reported that Healy now finds Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” album “hilarious” after being “blindsided” by it in April.
Although the record features songs about the Grammy winner’s ex Joe Alwyn and current boyfriend Travis Kelce, many appeared to reference her and Healy’s fling.
Healy “liked” the reply.

He is believed to be the subject of “Down Bad,” “But Daddy I Love Him” and “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.”
When asked about the album by a paparazzo shortly after its release, Healy claimed to not have “really listened to that much of it.”
However, he noted, “I’m sure it’s good.”
Swift seemingly sings about the rocker on “The Tortured Poets Department” album.
The songs reportedly “blindsided” Healy in April.
His family members weighed in at the time, with his mom joking she was not “aware” of “TTPD” and his aunt implying there was more to their story.
Swift and Healy have known each other since 2014, with news breaking in May 2023 that they were an item.
After the pair were photographed together on multiple occasions — and spotted kissing by a Page Six eyewitness — many Swifties voiced their disapproval, with some even writing an open letter asking the pop star to #SpeakUpNow over her partner’s past controversies.
He is now dating model Gabbriette Bechtel.
Swift and Travis Kelce have been going strong since last summer.
The relationship ended in June 2023 due to scheduling issues and incompatibility, as reported by “Entertainment Tonight.”
Healy has moved on with model Gabbriette Bechtel, who appears in Charli XCX’s “360” video, a tune on the singer’s new “Brat” album.
Swift’s relationship with Kelce remains solid, as the Kansas City Chiefs athlete recently expressed his desire to remain grounded while living the dream.
