Jennifer Lopez was presented with the Icon Award at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The 52-year-old superstar was given the honors for ‘her impact on pop culture, longevity and continued relevance as a touring and radio force,’ iHeartRadio said in a news release.
‘I really do it for you guys, I really do. And because of the love you give me … I can overcome negativity and so can you, every single moment, and let me tell you something else – I’m just getting started,’ Lopez said in her acceptance speech at the ceremony.

She said in her speech, ‘Because of you, I get to do what I love the most in life and that is the most wonderful blessing. That’s a gift that you give me and I just want to say thank you for that. Thank you to everyone who comes to a show, streams a song, sees a movie, follows me.
‘You guys are the ones who give me the opportunity every day to live a life I couldn’t even imagine would come true when I was a little girl growing up in the Bronx.’
Lopez added, ‘You did that for me. You made that dream come true. I’m shaking! And I will always be grateful to each and every one of you for that.
‘And I will never forget it, and I will never, ever take it for granted. So I want to say thank you to every one of you for believing in me when other people didn’t, even when I didn’t. Thank you for teaching me who I really am.’

Olivia Rodrigo won the award for Female Artist of the Year.
‘I want to thank all of the fans, you have made this the most incredible year of my life, I wake up everyday and I truly can’t believe I get to do this for my job and it’s all because of you guys so thank you so much!’ Rodrigo said in her acceptance speech. ‘And thank you to all of the other incredible women here tonight … it’s an honor to be here with you.’
Lil Nas X delivered an inspirational speech as he was crowned Male Artist of the Year, saying that chasing his dreams was ‘delusional,’ but he did it anyway.
‘I just want to say, in general, it’s OK to be delusional when you’re chasing your dreams; when you have a vision in mind, you can be delusional,’ he said.
Olivia Rodrigo won the award for Female Artist of the Year, saying, ‘I want to thank all of the fans, you have made this the most incredible year of my life’

Among the winners at Tuesday’s ceremony included Camila Cabello for Best Cover Song for her cover of Olivia Rodrigo’s good 4 u, in a socially-voted category.
Finneas was named the Producer of the Year, while Omer Fedi claimed the honors for Songwriter of the Year.
In the category of Alternative Artist of the Year, Machine Gun Kelly prevailed, while Billie Eilish won the prize for Alternative Album of the Year for Happier Than Ever.

The award for Rock Song of the Year went to the Foo Fighters for Waiting On A War, while the band was also named the Rock Artist of the Year. Their album Medicine at Midnight took the honors for Rock Album of the Year.
Bella Poarch won the Social Star Award, while Taylor Swift’s All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault) prevailed in the category of Best Lyrics.
