Madonna has drawn comparisons to Sabrina Carpenter, a pop sensation, after posting an age-defying selfie to her Instagram Story on Sunday evening.

The music icon and pop culture legend, 65, drew attention for her youthful appearance and striking resemblance to the Espresso hitmaker, who is 40 years her junior, after posting a glamorous photo ahead of her performance at the LadyLand Festival in Brooklyn.

Madonna is garnering compared to pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter after posting an age-defying selfie on her Instagram Story on Sunday evening.

Social media users reacted quickly to Madonna’s new photo on X (formerly known as Twitter), with one describing her as ‘the same stunning woman she was 34 years ago.’

“I don’t care if she has fillers twice a week or if she drains the national grid applying filters to her pictures. She looks AMAZING!” Another person gushed online.

A Madonna fan pointed out that Sabrina bears a striking resemblance to Madonna’s younger self.

‘Madonna actually looks better, sorry to say,’ a fourth said.

Another joked that the mother-of-six awoke and “said it’s time to look like Sabrina Carpenter today.”

Several people believed Carpenter might play Madonna in her biography.

Carpenter recently attended a Vogue World: Paris afterparty wearing a Michael Kors outfit, which Madonna previously wore on the cover of Glamour magazine in 1990.

Earlier this month, she boasted that if she were to teach an Intro to Pop class, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera’s music would be included in the curriculum.

‘Those were some of the first pop songs I ever heard and they raised me when I was five and helped me find my own version of that,’ Carpenter told Rolling Stone. ‘This would be a really long course. I should never teach a course.’

Carpenter has performed a rendition of Madonna’s 1984 hit “Like A Virgin” on her Emails I Can’t Send Tour.

The Disney Channel alum, who opened for Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour in Latin America, Australia, and Singapore, has recently gained notoriety following the release of her hit singles Espresso, Please Please Please, Feather, and Nonsense.

Social media users were quick to react to the new snap of Madonna on X (previously known as Twitter), with one declaring the seven-time Grammy winner as looking like ‘the same gorgeous woman she was 34 years ago’

Last week, Carpenter scored her her first number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with single Please Please Please.

The tune sat at number two last week, followed by her song Espresso at number three.

Upon hearing the news, she took to social media to gush: ‘MY FIRST #1 on the HOT 100!!!!!!! And espresso at #4.. I’m very immensely grateful so i will surely always remember this day for the rest of my life!’

The note continued with her thanking collaborators Jack Antonoff, Amy Allen, and Laura Sisk.

Carpenter has paid tribute to Madonna a handful of times over the years, including performing a cover of the superstar’s 1984 track, Like A Virgin, multiple times during her Emails I Can’t Send Tour (seen this month at the 2024 Governors Ball)

‘@jackantonoff @amyallen i deeply love this song and i love you both!!!!! I love our pitchy claps!!!!! I love @sharp_stick !!!! good things come in threes,’ she added.

She ended the comment by saying, “Thank you to everyone who has listened and made it so much fun to have these songs out in the world.” More to come soon.

In the music video for Please Please Please, she surprised fans by casting her boyfriend Barry Keoghan as her love interest.

The two portray a modern Bonnie and Clyde team, with Sabrina being involved in her new man’s criminal life, which includes bloody fights and an armed bank heist.

Short N’ Sweet, the music artist’s upcoming album, will be released on August 23.
