Shock and Disappointment: Adele’s AI Images Leave Fans Fuming Ahead of German Concerts.
Adele has uploaded a series of odd images ahead of her upcoming gigs in Germany, and some fans are not pleased.
On July 8, the Hello singer, 36, shared a series of photographs on her Instagram story showing her wearing a traditional German dirndl and clutching a soft pretzel, beer, and cheese.
Some fans are angry about Adele’s recent Instagram posts.
The photographs are tagged with the location Munich, Germany, and one is captioned ‘Not long now…Pack ma’s!
The posts are clearly intended to promote the ten gigs she’s planning to perform in Munich between August 2 and 31, in a brand new bespoke space designed specifically for the special dates.
Adele’s face is undeniably her, but the blurred, uncanny nature of the surrounding photos have led many to believe they were achieved with a generative AI tool or very intensive photoshop.
One of the pictures is visibly flawed, with a closer look at the singer’s hand revealing that there’s no fingernail on her thumb, and the edge of her dress appears to be lettuce.
Many fans pointed out that some details, like Adele’s thumb, are.
The images were intended to promote the singer’s upcoming shows in Germany.
Many fans were disappointed in Adele’s presumed use of AI.
Small details like the latticing of the pretzels she’s holding also reveal the pictures as phonies, so obviously that its very likely that Adele meant the photos as a joke.
Nonetheless, many admirers are upset with her usage of AI, claiming that the rise of AI art has a bad impact on artists.
A Reddit thread addressing the photographs was mostly negative, with Technical_Ad_4894 writing: ‘What was stopping her from just buying a dirndl and beer and forgoing the creepy ai mess altogether?’
TopAirport4121 agreed: “Absolutely this. Previously, a fast but entertaining photograph with a real pretzel would have been the best approach to promote this. But that requires more money and work, so we get this rubbish instead. I despise this chronology so much.
One Reddit user suggested she should have used a real artist.
The posts led to a wider discussion of AI and art.
Some users argued the post was just a harmless joke.
Other fans argued that the use of AI generative tools is just simply boring
Many wondered why she didn’t stage a real photo shoot.
ClassicalSpectacle agreed, writing: ‘I wish there was more mass rejection of this generative AI from artists. I don’t get how Adele thinks it’s not coming for her artistic output and livelihood. Too many complacent artists thinking it’s just a fun and harmless toy.’
Ok_Yogurtcloset8915 concurred, pointing out that while AI may appear harmless to a massive artist like Adele, it would eventually effect many smaller creators: ‘Because, realistically, it is not coming for her job. We will always have stars and live music since we enjoy both.
‘AI will eat away at tasks that support the bottom and middle tiers, such as songwriting for hire, session playing, background vocals, beats, and commercial jingles, and so on. We’re nowhere close to seeing AI popstars chart or tour, so somebody like Adele is safe.
