Did the Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 do a double-take with one of her wedding day gowns?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hit the 2024 ESPYS in style, and she may have taken a cue from one of her most memorable looks.

The Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍, 42, joined her husband, 39, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on July 11 for the awards show, where the Duke of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 was honored as this year’s recipient of the Pat Tillman Award for Service.

PEOPLE confirms that Meghan dressed up for the date night in a custom white halter gown by Oscar de la Renta, paired with black strappy Celine sandals. The dress shared an uncanny resemblance to the one she wore in 2018 as her royal wedding reception dress.

After sporting a custom Givenchy design by Clare Waight Keller for her walk down the aisle, Meghan changed into a “lily white” high halter neck gown with an eye-catching open back for the evening party.

On both occasions, the Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍 wore her hair pinned back and parted down the middle. She even tapped the same makeup artist for both looks: her longtime friend Daniel Martin. Martin was behind the Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍’s beauty routine on her wedding day and also posted on Instagram that he did the makeup for the ESPYS, writing, “ESPYS with my besties!”

Speaking to The Guardian ahead of the royal couple’s 2018 wedding, McCartney (who is the daughter of rock n’ roll royalty Sir Paul McCartney and the late musician Linda McCartney) was careful not to reveal that she was, in fact, one of two trusted female British designers tapped to put together Meghan’s bridal look.

“How many designers have you said that to today?” she said in response to the publication’s reporter asking if she had any involvement in the ceremony.

At the ESPYs, Prince Harry accepted the Pat Tillman Award for Service, which highlighted his work with service personnel and veterans done with the Invictus Games as the adaptive sports competition is celebrating its 10th year.

Earlier in the show, tennis legend Serena Williams mentioned her longtime friends in her opening monologue as she hosted this year’s annual awards ceremony dedicated to athletic achievement.

“It’s well, actually only pretty often that I get to be in a room with actual royalty, and tonight is no exception,” Williams, 42, joked. “Prince Harry and Meghan are here. Let’s give it up for them.”

“But please, Harry and Meghan, try not to breathe too much tonight. Because this is my night, and I don’t want to be overshadowed by the accusations that you guys are taking up too much oxygen, okay?” the pro athlete added as Meghan and Harry laughed from their seats.
