Sam Smith claimed that they were left unable to walk after a horrific skiing accident earlier this year.

The 32-year-old singer, who tore their ACL and needed to be rescued from a ski hill, has spent the past seven months focusing on mental health.

Sam emphasized how the damage is irreversible, which made them nervous and gave them an excuse to ‘get their s**t together’.

Sam Smith claimed that they were left unable to walk after a horrific skiing accident earlier this year.

In January, Sam was observed strolling around NYC with a cane and boot on their foot, but they have not discussed the issue yet.

Sam spoke about the horrific tragedy for the first time on the Sidetracked podcast, saying, ‘I’ve been really focused on my mental issues for the last seven months because I actually broke my ACL.

The singer, 32, tore their ACL and had to be rescued from a ski hill, leaving them ‘focused on mental problems for the previous seven months’.

‘I fully tore my ACL. I was skiing. On the second day, I made a huge mistake and went down a black hill.

‘I was carried down in a bloodbag. That was the worst. It is a permanent thing.

More about the ACL tear: ‘It’s in between your bones and helps you jump and spring about.

‘It completely ripped, and I decided to do the non-surgical option, but I couldn’t walk on this leg for a month, which was terrible.

‘It was the first time I had ever been unable to move, and I was hanging onto some weight. I was quite nervous. I used it as an excuse to get my sh*t together.”

In January, Sam was seen strolling around NYC with a cane and wearing an extended knee brace on their right leg.

Dailymail.com reached out to Smith’s representatives for more information on why they were using a cane at the time.

Despite his injury, Sam will return to the stage next month to play at the BBC Proms.

Despite his injuries, Sam will return to the stage next month for a performance at the BBC Proms.

In April, Sam was revealed to perform at the Proms this year. The BBC has stated that their show will be “entirely appropriate for the festival.”

In recent years, the diva has staged a number of provocative shows, and she is frequently seen wearing risqué and 𝓈ℯ𝓍ualized clothes on stage.

In 2019, Sam declared that they were non-binary and requested that people refer to them using the pronoun they/them.

They will headline this year’s BBC Prom event on August 2 as part of an expansion of the pop series.

Sam’s 2023 wild BRITs performance received over 100 Ofcom complaints for ‘devil worship’ and passionate kissing.

Sam performed the song dressed as the devil, replete with horns coming out of their hat, a similar outfit that provoked ire from spectators at the Grammys the week before.

Their Gloria tour last year also drew criticism from some fans who claimed it wasn’t appropriate for a younger audience.

Sam Jackson, director of Radio 3, believes Sam’s performance at the Proms will be acceptable for both the audience and the event.

The concert will highlight Sam Smith’s unique orchestral arrangement and be the only chance to see them in the UK this year.

Sam Jackson, the director of Radio 3, has insisted Sam’s broadcast for the Proms will be suitable.

‘This is very much a Prom; it is not Sam Smith at the Royal Albert Hall. The appearance and vibe will be very fitting for that festival.

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of their Grammy-winning 2014 debut album In the Lonely Hour, Sam will perform it with the BBC Concert Orchestra.

Florence Welch, from the indie-rock band Florence + The Machine, will also perform her Brit Award-winning 2009 album Lungs during the festival.

She will play with Grammy-winning composer Jules Buckley and his orchestra on September 11.
