During an emotional conversation with Joe Rogan, Francis Ngannou discussed the untimely demise of his 15-month-old son.

In April, the former UFC star-turned boxer shared on social media the terrible loss of his son Kobe.

The reason of death was unknown until the heavyweight’s recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. He said it was due to a brain abnormality.

In an interview, Francis Ngannou spoke out about the heartbreaking death of his 15-month-old son.

Ngannou stated that physicians at the time believed that Kobe had a bloated lung and prescribed medicine for it, which led to him lowering his ‘guard’.

However, while Ngannou was in Dubai, he learned of his son’s death over the phone via his younger brother.

In a tragic Instagram post from April, Ngannou disclosed the death of his 15-month-old son Kobe.

He stated: “My phone rang; it was my little brother, saying, ‘Bro, things are not going well here.'” He stated Kobe had passed out. He’s not breathing, we’re in the hospital, and they booted me out of the room.

Ngannou alleges that as he was trying to get further information from his brother, a nurse came out and informed him that Kobe ‘had gone’.

The former UFC heavyweight champion went on to discuss the impact his son’s death had on him, admitting that it left him with ‘nothing’.

‘In your heart, you feel broken. You have nothing. “Nothing is worth it,” he stated.

‘I’ve always liked life and know I have everything, but I’m [thinking] that at the very least, if I die, I can go see my child. I am going to see him. I am not terrified of it.

Ngannou’s devastating Instagram statement in April disclosed the loss of his 𝚋𝚊𝚋𝚢, saying, ‘Too soon to depart but still he’s gone. My little child, companion, and lover, Kobe, was full of life and joy. He now lies motionless. I called his name again, but he didn’t react.

‘I was my best self next to him, and now I don’t know who I am. Life is so cruel to strike us where it hurts the most.

‘How do you handle such a situation? How can you live with it? Please assist me if you have any ideas since I honestly don’t know what to do or how to cope with this.’

Many athletes, like Anthony Joshua and Conor McGregor, paid homage to Ngannou after Kobe’s death.

Ngannou first shared the news with his seven million Instagram followers, and the post received more than 35,000 comments total.

Joshua, Ngannou’s most recent opponent, left a remark on the Cameroonian’s Instagram page, wishing her peace from the memories she shared.

While UFC star Conor McGregor, who trained with Ngannou, commented, “Absolutely gutted reading this Francis!” I can only image how much anguish you are experiencing right now, and I am very sorry to hear this news.

“I pray God has the best and safest place in heaven for him, until we meet again.”

Several boxers, including Manny Pacquiao, Cain Velasquez, and Tony Bellew, paid homage.
