According to Francis Ngannou, Anthony Joshua’s team played mind games with him

When Francis Ngannou fought against Anthony Joshua, the Cameroonian fighter revealed how AJ’s team made him feel like he was wasting his time during the day of the event. He had to wait for a long time before there was even a glimpse of Joshua arriving at the arena. To those who know about this sport, you willknow how more experienced fighters and their respective teams will do anything to get their rivals off their game. In fact, they will do it even more so if they are a rookie who has never fought in events as massive as that one. After he publicly complained about this behavior, Francis Ngannou was mocked by promoter Eddie Hearn.

Ngannou complains about Joshua’s tricks on Joe Rogan

Francis Ngannou spoke about the stalling on Joe Rogan, he went into even more details and revealed they also made him waste time during press events. He said “And then every time that we’re going to do something in the five week, whether it’s media, they’re going to pick me up and then I get there have to wait like one hour and a half before he arrives. Pick up time is 10:30 from the hotel… We go to the supposedly fight night. We get to the arena, 10:45, there’s a producer coming to the locker room saying ‘Oh guys, we are running late on the broadcast now we’re going to go around 1:45’. It was around 1:30 that Anthony Joshua arrived. I’m like so we supposed to fight at 1:45 he’s arriving at 1:30. What does that mean?”

It’s still unclear if Francis Ngannou will fight inside ring again, he got pretty humbled by Anthony Joshua that time. Although he does deserve all th credit for making Tyson Fury look terrible, it is evident he would probably lose against any other of the elite heavyweights out there. But if for some reason he decides to fight again, it should be intereseting to know who his next opponent would be. And also, this experience with Anthony Joshua’s team should be a lesson learned of how he can’t really trust anybody with his time. The next time this happens, he will be able to identify trickery faster.
